This article explains the current Analytics feature in KDesk, including the report builder, report types, filters, downloads, reusable templates, and scheduled analytics templates.

How to Access Analytics

In the left sidebar, open the Analytics section and select Analytics or Report Templates. These pages are shown to account owners and to members with the permission View logs.

Analytics Builder

Builder controlWhat it does
Report typeChooses between ticket activity, ticket speed, and raw analytics events.
Group byGroups output by hour, day, week, month, or leaves it ungrouped.
Report nameFriendly label used for stored output and templates.
Report file typeDownloads the result as JSON or as CSV sample data.
Max eventsLimits returned rows for the raw analytics events report type.
TimeframeUses a preset window such as last 7 days or a custom start/end range.
Store report & email linkPersists the report file so KDesk can return a downloadable link. The UI notes that stored files auto-delete after 10 days.
Attach report to notification emailsLets templates send CSV attachments for the selected datasets.

Report Types

Report typeWhat you get
Ticket activityTicket totals such as opened, closed, and reopened tickets, plus category-move samples and status-change summaries.
Ticket speed (time to close)Measured ticket counts, average and median timing metrics, fastest and slowest values, and sample rows showing open-to-close duration.
Raw analytics eventsMatched analytics-coded log events, code counts, grouped series output, and an event preview table.

Filters

The filter rail on the right side of the builder supports multi-select filtering for Categories, Statuses, Priorities, Analytic codes, Log types, and Contacts. Category, status, priority, and analytic code filters also allow custom typed values.

Downloads and Datasets

When a report result is available, KDesk can download the output directly from the results panel. JSON downloads provide the full saved report result, while CSV downloads provide sample-based export data for the selected dataset.

CSV datasetWhat it exports
Raw eventsEvent timestamps, analytics labels, messages, and supporting event details.
Category movesSamples of category changes over time.
Status changesSamples of ticket status changes over time.
Ticket speed samplesExamples showing how long measured tickets took to close.

Templates and Scheduling

The analytics builder can save the current configuration as a template or update the template that was opened into the builder. A saved template stores the report definition, schedule in minutes, recipient notification emails, attachment settings, and the selected report type.

The Report Templates page supports Search, Open in builder, Run, Schedule, and Delete. Schedule management is minute-based. Clearing the schedule removes the recurring run. Each template card also shows its Last run, Next run, and current schedule state.

Using Saved Templates

Saved analytics templates can be reopened in the builder, run again on demand, updated, scheduled, or deleted from the Report Templates page. This makes it easier to reuse the same reporting setup without rebuilding the filters and timeframe each time.
